My husband Michael and I have been making music for most of our lives, playing in bands before and after we met. We've been live performers, session singers and players, writers and producers on our own and other's albums.

Over the years, the gear got smaller and live gigs drifted to home studios and jams. We've tried to keep up with the technology - it takes care of the heavy lifting both physically and metaphorically – but we use it as a tool and not a replacement for the human factor. 

We consider ourselves extremely lucky to share this experience and passion. I sing lead and harmony vocals, play acoustic guitar, a bit of mandolin, percussion, and my main instrument - keyboard (piano, and all the other "virtual" instruments and sounds). 

Mike plays electric guitar, bass, drums, harmonica and sings harmonies. He is experienced in recording, mixing and mastering, so we truly are a team in our home studio. 

One thing we hadn't done together in the past was co-write songs. Early in 2020, we had some ideas, gave it a shot, and ended up writing an album of fourteen songs together! We named our band Sunset Smoke, the album was The Sunset Sessions, Vol.1. We completed production of our 3rd. album together in 2025, a collection of originals and covers called Sunset Smoke - The C-Sides. 

The band title was inspired by the ominous red suns that appeared in the skies, caused by drifting smoke from the much more common wildfires in our region and beyond.
