From the recording The Sunset Sessions Vol. 1

Turbulent times; a song inspired by the feeling of impending storms, both literally and metaphorically.

Lyrics

Waiting for the Hurricane

The lines are drawn, predictions made
Most folks are calm, some feel afraid
Of what’s to come with the wind and rain
Waiting for the hurricane

When all the ground is saturated
A gust can down the strongest tree
Along the coast, they’ve evacuated
A man can drown from the towering sea
When they hunker down it seems insane
Waiting for the hurricane

We’ve never seen a storm like this
Thoughts and prayers won’t change the course
Landfall is just a hit or miss
Far and wide, we’ll feel the force

The power lines will swing and sway
It’s a crazy time, you hear the old folks say
The weatherman is right or wrong
What can we do? (Write a song)
The pressure’s on, it hurts my brain
Waiting for the hurricane

What lies on the other side?
When systems fail and worlds collide
When one man’s win is another’s pain
Waiting for the hurricane
